Soham killer Ian Huntley fighting for life after prison attack

SOHAM murderer Ian Huntley is reported to be in a critical condition after being seriously assaulted inside a high-security prison.

The 52-year-old was airlifted to hospital on Thursday morning (Feb 26) after being found with severe injuries on his wing at HMP Frankland in County Durham. Reports indicate the attack happened at around 9:00am and involved another inmate.

Sources quoted in national media said Huntley’s condition was “touch and go” after he was discovered lying in a large amount of blood before emergency services were called.

Huntley is serving a life sentence for the murders of ten-year-old schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in Soham, Cambridgeshire, in 2002 — one of the most notorious child murder cases in modern British history.

A Prison Service spokesperson confirmed police are investigating the incident.
