Cymru have unveiled their new adidas home shirt, a design described as “inspired by Welsh history and national pride”.
The shirt retains the iconic red base long associated with Cymru’s home kits and the famous Draig Goch, but introduces a bold horizontal stripe design in dark green, red, and white – colours drawn from the national flag. Faintly woven into the central green stripe is the Welsh translation of the country’s name, CYMRU, symbolising national identity and unity.
Across the back of the neck, the Football Association of Wales motto,
Gorau Chwarae Cyd Chwarae or “Best Play is Team Play”, serves as a reminder that success on the world stage is built on togetherness, both on and off the pitch.
Adidas’ collection of bespoke home kits pays homage to historic jersey designs while reflecting a modern, forward-looking aesthetic. Each shirt aims to combine tradition with innovation, representing a liberated style of play and offering fresh perspectives on the game. The designs are intended to resonate with every generation of fan.
Crafted using adidas’ latest CLIMACOOL+ technology, the new kit is designed for performance and comfort, helping players stay cool and focused as they represent Cymru. The shirt also features adidas’ new lenticular logo, a striking contemporary detail that complements a design deeply rooted in tradition.
The new kit draws inspiration from Cymru’s adidas shirts of 1976 and 1984, bridging past and present in a symbol of national pride.
Fans will see the shirt in action for the first time at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday 18 November, with kick-off at 7.45pm, as Cymru host North Macedonia in their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The adidas Cymru home kit will go on sale from Thursday 6 November through exclusive retail partner JD, available both in-store and online.
