Magistrates impose year-long requirement
AN ASSAULT carried out in Aberystwyth last year has resulted in a community order.
Justin McFee, 29, of High Street, Aberystwyth, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court charged with assault by beating, contrary to section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.
The court heard that the offence took place on November 11, 2025.
McFee had originally pleaded not guilty, but changed his plea to guilty at the magistrates’ court and was convicted on January 22, 2026.
Magistrates imposed a community order (England and Wales) to run until February 10, 2027. The order includes a 12-month non-residential Drug Rehabilitation Requirement, and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement of up to 20 days.
He was also fined £100, ordered to pay £150 compensation, as well as £200 prosecution costs.
A restraining order was made on conviction, lasting until February 10, 2027. The order prohibits McFee from contacting the complainant directly or indirectly, including via social media, from entering any premises occupied by them, from attending their place of employment, and from posting any information online that refers to them directly or indirectly.
