Welsh music icons Super Furry Animals are set to return to the stage for the first time in ten years, announcing a major UK and Ireland tour to mark the 30th anniversary of their landmark debut album Fuzzy Logic.
The five-piece – Huw Bunford, Cian Ciarán, Daf Ieuan, Guto Pryce and Gruff Rhys – will embark on the Supercabra 2026 Tour, their first live outing since a series of reunion dates in 2016.
Among the highlights for Welsh fans will be two homecoming performances: at Venue Cymru in Llandudno on Thursday 14 May, followed by Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on Saturday 16 May. Other stops include Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester and London.
Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday 3 October via Ticketmaster, with further details available at www.superfurry.com.
In typical Furries fashion, the band spent the weekend building anticipation, drip-feeding teasers on social media. Videos of a cryptic tour logo appearing on a Welsh beach and posters popping up across Cardiff had fans speculating before the official announcement. The logo depicts the “Supercabra” – a playful nod to the mythical chupacabra, the goat-sucking beast immortalised in their 1997 album Radiator.
Although never a band to linger too long on nostalgia, the break in their decade-long hiatus will be warmly received. To mark the occasion, Super Furry Animals will also reissue their 2005 album Love Kraft with a selection of previously unreleased material. Ahead of tickets going on sale, BBC Radio 6 Music’s Huw Stephens will premiere unheard track Rock ’N’ Roll Flu at 5pm on Thursday 2 October. The reissue follows on 24 October.
The announcement comes as frontman Gruff Rhys continues to enjoy a prolific solo career, having recently toured his ninth album Dim Probs. Meanwhile, Bunford, Ciarán, Ieuan and Pryce have kept busy with experimental electronic project Das Koolies.
