Plans unveiled for 29 affordable homes in Llandudno

PLANS for new affordable housing in Llandudno have been revealed.

Grŵp Cynefin & First Choice Housing Association have applied to Conwy County Council’s planning department, seeking permission for 29 new homes.

The Denbigh-based housing association wants to erect 29 affordable homes at the former multi-use games area near Tŷ Hapus Community Centre on Cwm Road, Llandudno.

The plans include new vehicular access from Cwm Road, the creation of new internal access road, and a parking area, together with associated works for landscaping and drainage infrastructure.

According to the planning application, neighbours have been consulted about the project.

A planning statement reads: “The site lies within the settlement boundary of the urban area of Llandudno and would represent the redevelopment of a former multi-use games area (MUGA) on land to the west of the Ty Hapus Community Centre, Ffordd Penrhyn, Llandudno.

“The application is considered to be brownfield land as the firmer MUGA has fallen out of the council’s open space due to disuse in previous years. Therefore, development of the site to provide 100% affordable housing on previously developed land within the development boundary is considered acceptable in principle.”

The plans will likely be discussed at a future planning committee at Conwy’s Coed Pella HQ.
