A SPEED sheep shearing group from Denbigh has raised an incredible £4,000 for an all-Wales lifesaving charity.
Cneifio Cyflym Hiraethog Speed Shear group donated the funds to the Wales Air Ambulance following the success of their fundraising event.
The group chose Wales Air Ambulance as their nominated charity for 2025 and held the popular event at Llindir Inn, Henllan, Denbigh.
Guests were treated to an evening of fun all in aid of the Charity. As well as the popular shearing, there was a BBQ provided by The Llindir Inn, live music from Ta Waeth and Osh and a raffle with many great prizes.
In a social media post a spokesperson for the group, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, supported, and took part in this year’s Hiraethog Speed Shear; the competitors, organisers, sponsors, and the amazing crowd!
“This fantastic amount goes to a Charity very close to our hearts and shows the incredible strength of our community.”

The Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury.
It is delivered via a unique third sector and public sector partnership. The Wales Air Ambulance Charity relies on public donations to raise the £13 million required every year to keep the helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.
The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.
This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and conduct minor operations, all at the scene of an incident.
As a pan-Wales service, its dedicated crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.

Debra Sima, North East Wales Regional Fundraising Manager for Wales Air Ambulance, said: “A huge thank you to everyone that played a part in making the event a huge success.
“The group has raised an incredible amount for us, and we were delighted to be chosen as its nominated charity for 2025. All the members should be extremely proud to have raised £4,000. You’ve all played a part in saving lives across our country.
“Fundraising, like this one, will enable us to keep our helicopters in the air and our rapid response vehicles on the road. Thank you so much.”
