THE CREW from Mold Fire Station raised an amazing £4,500 for good causes following its annual bonfire and fireworks display.
The popular event, which was held at Mold Alex Football Club, was supported well by the public. Each year the display raises funds for its chosen charities to ‘help support their work helping the local community’.
Chief Fire Officer Dawn Docx attended a recent event at Mold Fire Station to celebrate the efforts of the crew over the 2025 bonfire season.
The Wales Air Ambulance was delighted to attend the event and received a cheque of £1,500, along with North East Wales Search and Rescue and The Stroke Rehabilitation Centre at Deeside Community Hospital, who were both beneficiaries of the event.
The Wales Air Ambulance was chosen as one of the chosen charities after the crew attended several jobs with the Charity during the year.

Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and, if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury.
It is delivered via a unique third-sector and public-sector partnership. The Wales Air Ambulance Charity relies on public donations to raise the £13 million required every year to keep the helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.
The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.
This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and conduct minor operations, all at the scene of an incident.
As a pan-Wales service, its dedicated crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.
Debra Sima, Regional Fundraising Manager at the Wales Air Ambulance Charity said: “I was delighted to attend the recent event and meet the Chief Fire Officer Dawn Docx and the wonderful crew at Mold Fire Station, where we received a cheque of £1,500.
“The crew do a fantastic job every year organising a bonfire and fireworks display to keep the public safe, whilst raising funds for three important causes.
“We’re extremely grateful to have been chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the event. The Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise £13 million every year to continue to be there for the people of Wales when they need us most.
“Every pound donated really makes a lifesaving difference. Diolch yn fawr pawb!”
