FIBRAX Fenwicks Wrexham Cycling Club is celebrating an outstanding season from 15-year-old cycling sensation Aisling Charlesworth, who has enjoyed remarkable success on both the national and international stage, as she prepares to move on from the club she has proudly represented since the age of four.
Having started her cycling journey with the club more than a decade ago, Aisling has developed into one of the most exciting young riders in British cycling. Her final season in Wrexham colours has been marked by success across road, track, circuit and cyclocross disciplines, highlighting her exceptional talent, determination and versatility.
Among her standout achievements this year are victories in two of Belgium’s most prestigious youth races. Aisling claimed a memorable solo victory at the In Flanders Fields Youth Day in Ypres, attacking with four kilometres remaining to secure an emphatic win, before following that success two weeks later by winning the Tour of Flanders (Ronde van Vlaanderen) Women U17 race in Oudenaarde, one of the most prestigious events on the international youth cycling calendar.
Closer to home, Aisling has also enjoyed a dominant season on the national stage. She secured the British Cycling National Youth Circuit Championship title in Scarborough, was crowned British Cycling National Youth Omnium Champion on the track and added the British Cycling National Cyclocross Championship title to an already impressive list of honours.

Her performances throughout the year have established her as one of Britain’s leading young cyclists and a rider capable of competing with the very best riders in Europe.

With the National Track Championships in August still to come, Aisling has further opportunities to add to an already remarkable season and challenge for more national titles and championship jerseys.
Reflecting on her season, Aisling Charlesworth said: “Wrexham Cycling Club has been such a huge part of my life since I started cycling at the age of four.
“I’m incredibly grateful to all the coaches, volunteers, team-mates and supporters who have helped me throughout my journey.
“Winning national titles and racing successfully in Belgium has made this a really special year, and I’m looking forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead.
“I’d like to thank John Holt and the team at the Beicio Cymru Welsh Academy for their support over the past two years, as well as British Cycling for the fantastic opportunities they have given me to train and race.
“I’m equally grateful to everyone at St Joseph’s for the encouragement and support they’ve shown throughout my cycling journey. Balancing school and elite sport can be challenging, and their understanding and flexibility have made a huge difference.”

Aisling is a pupil at St Joseph’s Catholic and Anglican High School, Wrexham, where staff have worked closely with her and her family to support her racing commitments alongside her studies. Their encouragement and flexibility have helped her balance the demands of competing at the highest level of youth cycling while continuing her education.

The club’s youth coaching sessions return in September and are open to children aged 3 to 16 of all abilities.
