Bridgend hotel wins Channel 4’s Four in a Bed

Boutique stay praised for spotless rooms and standout Spanish breakfast

A BOUTIQUE hotel in Bridgend is celebrating national recognition after being crowned the winner of the popular television show Four in a Bed.

Cae Court Hotel secured the top spot on the Channel 4 programme after impressing rival hosts with its newly refurbished rooms, attention to detail and a colourful Spanish-inspired breakfast.

The tea-time series sees four B&B or boutique hotel owners stay at each other’s properties before scoring them on cleanliness, facilities, quality and value for money. At the end of the week, the establishment with the highest score is revealed as the winner.

During the episode, hotel owner Steve Clarke personally hosted the visiting contestants, who praised the hotel’s immaculate presentation and comfortable, modern rooms.

His Spanish breakfast offering also stood out among competitors, bringing a Mediterranean twist to the traditional morning meal and helping secure the winning score.

Praise for comfort and cleanliness

Speaking after the result was announced, Mr Clarke said he was delighted with the recognition.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have won Four in a Bed,” he said.

“Taking part was an incredible experience, and I was proud to personally host the other contestants here in Bridgend – they should all be very proud of their lovely venues too.

“Comfort and cleanliness are elements we take a great amount of care about for our guests, and our Spanish breakfast is a real passion project for us. To see those recognised on national television means a great deal to me and all our colleagues here at Cae Court.”

Mediterranean flavour at the heart of the hotel

Alongside its guest accommodation, the hotel has developed a distinctive hospitality offering centred on its on-site Spanish restaurant, Gin & Sangria.

The restaurant focuses on Mediterranean cuisine, serving traditional dishes including paella alongside a selection of wines, cocktails and tapas-style snacks.

During the summer months, guests can also make use of the hotel’s outdoor patio area, designed for relaxed alfresco dining and drinks, while a lounge bar offers coffee and small sharing plates throughout the day.

Following its television success, the hotel says it is now looking forward to welcoming new visitors who discovered the venue through the programme and want to experience the winning formula for themselves.
