Acclaimed singer-songwriter added as special guest for summer world tour date
ANNA CALVI has been announced as the special guest for David Byrne’s Cardiff Castle show this summer.
The critically acclaimed singer-songwriter will join the former Talking Heads frontman when his Who Is The Sky? world tour arrives at Cardiff Castle on Sunday, July 26, as part of the TK Maxx presents DEPOT Live concert series.

Calvi, known for her distinctive guitar work and dramatic live performances, was added to the bill this week as Byrne’s “very special guest”.
The pair have previously worked together, collaborating on Calvi’s Strange Weather EP.
Byrne’s Cardiff appearance follows a sold-out show at the Utilita Arena earlier this year and forms part of a major international tour supporting his latest album Who Is The Sky?
Calvi has built a reputation as one of Britain’s most original alternative artists. A three-time Mercury Prize nominee and BRIT Award nominee, she has also composed music for television, including scores for series five and six of Peaky Blinders.
Byrne, born in Scotland and raised in North America, co-founded Talking Heads in 1975 and has since enjoyed a celebrated solo career. Over the years he has collaborated with artists including Brian Eno, Fatboy Slim and X-Press 2, and has won an Oscar, Golden Globe, Grammy and Tony Award.

His most recent album features guest appearances from Hayley Williams, St Vincent and Tom Skinner, with new material continuing to be released during the tour.
Presale tickets are available from 10:00am tomorrow via depotlive.co.uk/davidbyrne.
General sale begins at 10:00am on Friday through depotlive.co.uk and ticketmaster.co.uk.
The Cardiff Castle series will also host a packed summer line-up including Garbage, Bastille, The Wombats, Katy Perry, The Streets and Jimmy Eat World.
