Family pantomime promises giant laughs, dazzling effects and Christmas cheer at YMa
A GIANT festive adventure is heading to Pontypridd this Christmas as Jack and the Beanstalk takes to the stage at YMa for what organisers are calling the town’s first-ever pantomime.
Running from December 9 to 20, the production promises all the ingredients of a traditional family pantomime, including big musical numbers, audience participation, comedy, colourful costumes and plenty of festive sparkle.
Produced by Roly Poly Events and Dog With A Bone Creative Studio, the show follows Jack and Jill as they embark on a magical journey up the famous beanstalk, encountering larger-than-life characters and unexpected surprises along the way.
Audiences can expect boos for the villains, cheers for the heroes and plenty of laughs as Dame Trott attempts to keep order — with predictably chaotic results.
The production will feature a professional cast, elaborate costumes, special effects and a giant beanstalk as the centrepiece of the adventure.
Organisers say the show is aimed at audiences of all ages, making it an ideal festive outing for families and theatre-goers alike.
A spokesperson for Roly Poly Events and Dog With A Bone Creative Studio said: “We are excited to bring high-quality theatre to the heart of the community and proud to present Pontypridd’s very first pantomime this Christmas.”
School and group bookings are available, while relaxed performances have also been scheduled to make the production accessible to as many people as possible.
Audience members should be aware that the show contains flashing lights and loud bangs.
