PLANS to develop a new set of business units close to Aberavon sea-front have been given the go-ahead by Neath Port Talbot Council.
They could now see the construction of five industrial workshop units alongside parking, drainage and landscaping at Sandfields Young Business Centre on Endeavour Close Industrial Estate.
The 60m by 40m plot of land in Sandfields is based around three miles from Port Talbot town centre and is currently used as a fenced car park that serves the existing business centre.
The development was approved by Neath Port Talbot Council officers as part of their delegated decisions made between August 14, and November 23, 2025.
They will allow for a single-storey commercial building that houses five individual business units to be built along the northern boundary of the site.

While no specific occupiers have yet been confirmed for the units, the application anticipates that once up and running the site would likely operate between 7am–7pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays.
The report said: “The proposed development is a planning application with Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council for the erection of five business units and associated works at the Sandfields Young Business Centre, located off Endeavour Close within the Purcell Avenue Industrial Estate, Port Talbot.”
When it comes to the design, it adds: “The building will be constructed using a steel profile cladding roof, brickwork to the front and side elevations, and vertically laid steel cladding to the rear above a brick plinth. External doors are aluminium-faced with glazed panels.”
