Newport audiences are set for an unforgettable evening of live music as the Big Yellow Tambourine Man Band arrives at The Riverfront tomorrow (June 4) at 7.30pm, celebrating the timeless songwriting of Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell.
This captivating tribute show takes audiences on a “radical tour” through some of the most iconic songs of the 20th century, featuring faithful renditions from across the legendary careers of two of modern music’s greatest singer-songwriters. Expect to hear classics from Grammy Award-winning albums including Blue, Court & Spark, The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan, and Blonde on Blonde, alongside many more beloved tracks.
The show is the brainchild of Devon-based singer-songwriter Isabelle Nutton and Cape Town guitarist and vocalist Bob Thomson, who united over a shared fascination with Dylan and Mitchell’s poetic lyricism and musical artistry. Their collaboration evolved into an immersive production that delves deep into the distinctive sounds, stories and spirit of both artists.
With glowing audience praise such as:
- “Not just another tribute… The best we’ve ever seen.”
- “Transportational harmonies.”
- “Really superb – taken right back to the ‘60s and ‘70s.”
- “These excellent musicians transported me gleefully back to a golden age. You honour our dreams.”
