WELSH law firm, David W Harris & Co, has raised £1,400 for charity by taking part in the annual Will Aid campaign.

The firm dedicated its time and expertise to writing Wills throughout November. Rather than charging standard fees, the team invited clients to make a voluntary donation to Will Aid in lieu of payment – helping to fund vital charity work in the UK and around the world.

The money raised will support Will Aid’s partner charities, which work across a range of important causes, including humanitarian aid, protecting vulnerable children, and supporting those facing hardship across the UK.

Tom Baker, Partner at David W Harris & Co, said: “We’re proud to support Will Aid each year – it’s a great opportunity to help our clients plan for the future while also raising funds for incredibly important causes.

“It’s always a real team effort, and everyone gets behind the campaign. Knowing that the work we do during the campaign has a wider impact beyond our day-to-day role makes it especially rewarding.

“The funds raised will go on to support people facing difficult circumstances, both here in the UK and around the world, which makes taking part all the more meaningful.”

Since its launch in 1988, Will Aid has raised more than £26 million in donations, with millions more pledged in charitable legacies.

Lauren Poole, Chair of Will Aid, praised the firm’s achievement, and said: “Congratulations to the team on raising such a fantastic amount.

“It’s always inspiring to see firms come together to support Will Aid, giving their time and expertise to help clients while raising vital funds for our partner charities.”

Peter de Vena Franks, Will Aid’s Campaign Director, added: “The continued commitment from firms like David W Harris & Co is what makes Will Aid such a success year after year.

“Their support helps ensure the campaign can reach more people while generating essential funding for charities delivering crucial work in the UK and beyond.

“It’s a great example of how the legal profession can make a meaningful difference in communities.”

Will Aid runs every November, giving people the opportunity to have a professionally written Will in exchange for a donation to charity. The suggested donation is £120 for a basic single Will and £200 for a pair of basic mirror Wills. All proceeds support Will Aid’s eight partner charities: Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Crisis, NSPCC, SCIAF (Scotland), Shelter, and Trócaire (Northern Ireland).
