St David’s Cardiff names Sight Life as local charity partner for 2026–2027

Partnership to support blind and partially sighted people across South Wales through fundraising, training and community initiatives

ST DAVID`S Cardiff has announced Sight Life as its official local charity partner for 2026–2027, following a competitive selection process.

The partnership will support and promote the work of the South Wales-based charity, which provides vital services for blind and partially sighted people, while strengthening St David’s commitment to community engagement and inclusive visitor experiences.

Sight Life was selected for its long history of achievement, strong community links and dedication to improving the lives of people living with sight loss across the region.

Over the next two years, the shopping centre and the charity will work together on a wide programme of fundraising events, community engagement activities and volunteering opportunities, alongside sight loss awareness initiatives delivered within the centre.

Plans also include specialist sight loss awareness training for staff and retailers, as well as workshops designed to improve accessibility and enhance the experience of visually impaired visitors.

Helen Morgan, Centre Director of St David’s Cardiff, said the partnership reflected shared community values.

“We offer Sight Life a very warm welcome as our new local charity partner. Sight Life makes a huge impact in its work improving the lives of people with sight loss, and its ethos strongly aligns with our community values. We’re looking forward to hosting some exciting fundraising initiatives in the centre and supporting its essential services.”

Richard Harvey, Chief Executive of Sight Life, said the partnership would help extend the charity’s reach across South Wales.

“We are incredibly grateful and excited to be selected as St David’s local charity partner. This partnership gives us a unique platform to raise awareness, deliver impactful events, and engage with new supporters.

“We are particularly pleased to have the opportunity to work with St David’s brand partners to widen their skills for supporting guests with sight loss – something that will make a real difference to many people across South Wales.”

The partnership is expected to play a key role in promoting inclusion, accessibility and community wellbeing across Cardiff and the wider South Wales region.
