Major £2.3m dental practice opens in Cardiff with more than 30 dentists

One of the largest dental practices in Wales has officially opened in Cardiff following a £2.3 million investment aimed at improving access to dental care across the capital.

THE NEW MyDentist practice, based at City Link Retail Park, features 19 state-of-the-art treatment rooms and a team of more than 30 dentists, making it one of the biggest dental facilities in Wales.

The practice has been created by bringing together the company’s former surgeries on Quay Street, Splott Road and Llanrumney into a single purpose-built centre equipped with the latest dental technology.

Patients can access a full range of NHS and private dental services, including routine check-ups, hygiene appointments, cosmetic dentistry, teeth whitening, clear aligner treatments, dental implants and smile makeover procedures.

The practice is also accepting new private patients through myoptions, MyDentist’s private care service, with new patient examinations starting from £79. A limited number of places are also available on the company’s monthly dental plan, which includes guaranteed check-ups and hygiene appointments from £10.50 per month.

Appointments are already underway following the official opening of the new facility.

A spokesperson for MyDentist said: “We are proud to introduce our newly merged and relocated practice, bringing together our former locations at Quay Street, Splott Road and Llanrumney into a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest dental technology.

“Our practice features 19 surgeries, including nine on the ground floor, all designed with wheelchair and disabled access to ensure comfort and accessibility for all patients.”

The spokesperson added that the site offers free on-site parking, is served by local bus routes and is located around 2.3 miles from Cardiff Central railway station, making it accessible for patients from across the city.

Alongside NHS treatment, the practice provides a wide range of private services including dental implants, clear aligner orthodontics, composite bonding, facial aesthetics and hygiene appointments.

“We welcome all patients to our practice and ensure everyone is treated with the utmost care and attention by our highly skilled staff,” the spokesperson said. “We look forward to seeing patients at our new home.”

The opening represents one of the largest recent investments in primary dental care in Cardiff and significantly expands the capacity for both NHS and private dental treatment in the city.
