A MAN from Carmarthen has pleaded guilty to two counts of assault following incidents in Aberystwyth on Sunday (July 13).
ROBERT SMITH, aged 34, appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on Monday (July 14), where he admitted assaulting a man and a woman by beating them on the town’s High Street.
The court heard that both victims were attacked on the same date during a disturbance in the centre of Aberystwyth.
Smith, who gave his address as care of the Department for Public Protection on Llangunnor Road, Carmarthen, was represented by defence solicitor Tom Lloyd. The prosecution was led by Sian Vaughan.
Magistrates ordered a full pre-sentence report and adjourned the case for sentencing to take place at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on August 6 at 11:00am.
Smith was granted conditional bail and must co-operate with probation services in the preparation of the report.
Case continues.
