A CARMARTHENSHIRE man has been jailed after he was found with a woman he had been prohibited from contacting at Heathrow Airport.
Shone Bell, aged 31, of Llys Glan y Mor, Llanelli, appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Monday (July 27).
Bell admitted breaching a restraining order by being in the company of the woman at Heathrow Airport on July 6.
The order had been imposed by Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on February 25 and prohibited him from having contact with her.
Magistrates were told the offence was Bell’s second breach of the restraining order involving the same woman.
The offence was also committed while Bell was subject to a suspended prison sentence for a similar matter.
The court concluded that the breach was so serious that only an immediate custodial sentence could be justified.
Bell was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison for the Heathrow breach. The sentence was ordered to run consecutively to an activated suspended sentence, bringing his total term of imprisonment to 36 weeks.
He was also ordered to pay £85 towards prosecution costs.
In a separate matter, Bell admitted failing to attend an initial drug assessment at Dafen Police Station on March 10.
The assessment had been required after analysis of a sample indicated that cocaine may have been present in his body.
Magistrates imposed no separate penalty for that offence.
