Cwmamman Reserves Climb to Second with Emphatic Win

Dawe at the double as ten-man Tonna are swept aside in key Neath League clash

CWMAMMAN UNITED RESERVES made the most of a weekend without first-team action by moving up to second place in the Neath League, following a convincing 4–0 victory over promotion rivals Tonna AFC.

On a heavy pitch, Cwmamman adapted quickest and produced some impressive, free-flowing football from the outset. Their early dominance was rewarded in the 15th minute when Kieran Dawe opened the scoring with a well-taken finish.

The game swung further in Cwmamman’s favour midway through the first half when Tonna were reduced to ten men. Craig Jones was shown a red card in the 25th minute for dissent, leaving the visitors with a mountain to climb.

Cwmamman took full advantage of their numerical superiority and continued to press forward. Dawe added his second of the afternoon before Stevie Evans found the net to give the home side a commanding 3–0 lead at the interval.

The second half saw Cwm remain firmly in control, although credit must go to Tonna, who worked tirelessly to limit the damage. Cwmamman created a number of further chances, but it was Ethan Dix who added the final flourish, rounding off an excellent team performance with a well-taken fourth goal.

The result sees Cwmamman United Reserves leapfrog Tonna into second place in the table, now sitting four points behind league leaders Cimla AFC as the promotion race continues to gather pace.
