Fog and grit as Amman United Youth power past Llandeilo

AMMAN UNITED Youth produced a superbly gritty performance to defeat Llandeilo 25–3 in extremely difficult conditions, with dense fog and a sticky pitch making handling and visibility a real challenge throughout.

Llandeilo opened the scoring with an early penalty to lead 3–0, but Amman United responded impressively. The visitors’ first try came in spectacular fashion when Iwan Griffiths finished off a brilliant cross-field kick from Carter Williams, cutting through
the fog to claim the ball and score in the corner.

Amman then took control as Flynn Ahearn showed real power, crashing over for the second try after sustained pressure. Carter Williams added the conversion to put Amman 12–3 ahead.

Despite the conditions, Amman continued to dominate territory and possession. Carter Williams kept the scoreboard ticking with a pair of penalties, before Griff Rees forced his way over for another well-worked try. Williams once again converted and added a
further penalty to complete the scoring at 25–3.

In awful conditions, this was a performance built on grit, resilience, and teamwork. With the side made up largely of first-year youth players, every individual was outstanding, showing maturity and physicality beyond their years. A hugely encouraging display
from a young Amman United Youth squad with a very bright future.
