Tumble and Ammanford Fire Stations responf to grass fire in Upper Tumble

FIREFIGHTERS from Tumble and Ammanford Fire Stations responded to a grass fire in Upper Tumble on Monday, August 25.

At 1.43pm on Monday, August 25, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Tumble and Ammanford Fire Stations were called to an incident in Upper Tumble.

Crews responded to a grass fire across approximately two hectares of gorse, ferns, trees and grassland. Crews utilised two main jets, one hose reel jet and wildfire blowers and beaters to extinguish the fire. After extinguishing the fire, crews continued to dampen down at the scene.

Crews left the scene at 7.35pm.

Every year fire is responsible for the destruction of thousands of hectares of countryside, open space, and wildlife habitats. Partners of the Wales Wildfire Board commit to working with communities to build a healthier and more resilient landscape, by developing a more biodiverse countryside for the future.
