Late Seaside Equaliser Denies Cwm Victory in Six-Goal Thriller

Cwm surrender two-goal lead as hosts strike in 95th minute

CWM were left frustrated once again in the Macron Premier League after conceding a dramatic late equaliser in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Seaside.

Having grabbed a last-gasp equaliser of their own in their previous away league match at Giants Grave, Cwm found themselves on the wrong end of stoppage-time drama this time, as Seaside struck in the 95th minute to snatch a share of the points.

The match was played in extremely difficult conditions, with an almost gale-force wind blowing in off the bay near Llanelli. On several occasions, strong clearances were caught by the wind and blown back behind players, while a hard, bumpy pitch added to the challenge.

Despite the odds, both sides adapted well and produced an entertaining contest.

Cwm made the perfect start, taking the lead in the sixth minute when Kyle Ashford finished well to make it 1-0. The visitors continued to enjoy the better of the first half, with Kieran Dawe, Callum Humphries, Rhydian Jones and Cam Berry all going close.

At the other end, Kal O’Donnell was outstanding in marshalling the Cwm defence against the wind, but Seaside found a way back into the game before the break. Shane McKibbin levelled with a superb curling effort to make it 1-1 at half-time.

With the wind now in their favour, Cwm started the second half in blistering fashion, scoring twice in quick succession through Kieran Dawe, one of them coming from the penalty spot.

At 3-1 up, Cwm looked set to take all three points, but Seaside responded with a strong spell of pressure and mounted wave after wave of attacks. Goals from Jamie Jenkins and Jay Evans brought them back into contention, with Evans firing home a dramatic equaliser in the 95th minute.

Cwm were grateful not to lose the match entirely, with goalkeeper Kai Rees producing three outstanding saves to keep the visitors in the contest during Seaside’s late surge.

The draw means Cwm remain fourth in the Macron Premier League, but will feel they missed a golden opportunity to claim a valuable away win.
