Llanelli man remanded after affray and police vehicle damage charges

A man has been remanded in custody after admitting criminal damage offences and indicating a guilty plea to affray following an incident in Llanelli.

JUSTIN THOMAS, 33, of Goring Road, Llanelli, appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (June 9) charged with multiple offences linked to an incident in the town over the weekend.

The court heard Thomas admitted damaging a window and property fixtures belonging to Phillip’s Lane Ltd during an incident in Llanelli on Sunday (June 7).

He also pleaded guilty to damaging a Dyfed-Powys Police vehicle on the same date.

Thomas further indicated a guilty plea to a charge of affray. Prosecutors allege he used or threatened unlawful violence towards others and that his conduct was such that a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene would have feared for their personal safety.

Magistrates remanded Thomas in custody.

He is due to appear again before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (June 23) at 11:00am.
