SWANSEA Community Farm is calling on the public to support its Big Give Earth Raise campaign, aiming to raise £5,000 in just one week, which will be DOUBLED to £10,000.
The campaign, running from Wednesday, April 22 to midday on April 29, will support the Farm’s Generation Abertawe project, which provides young people with vital environmental training and green skills development, all whilst supporting their mental health and wellbeing. Thanks to match funding through The Big Give, every donation made will be doubled, offering a unique opportunity for donors to make a greater impact.
The Generation Abertawe project focuses on equipping local youth with skills in sustainable food growing, wildlife habitat creation, conservation grazing, and ecosystem restoration. This hands-on experience not only helps young people gain confidence and valuable career skills but also improves their mental health and connection to nature.
To support the campaign, the Farm will host several fundraising events, including its Farm Gala at Swansea’s Masonic Hall on Saturday, April 25. The evening will feature a three-course meal, live entertainment, and exciting auctions, all hosted by Swansea legend Mal Pope. Tickets are available at £60 per person or £550 for a table of 10.
A spokesperson for the Farm said: “Our young people are passionate about the environment and eager to make a difference. This campaign will help them develop the skills they need for a greener future. Thanks to match funding, every donation goes twice as far.”
