Tractor run raises over £4,600 for Special Care Baby Unit

Festive fundraiser in Pontyberem supports Glangwili Hospital’s SCBU

THE CWM Gwendraeth Christmas Tractor Run has raised an impressive £4,688.51 for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Glangwili Hospital.

The festive fundraiser, which took place in Pontyberem in December 2025, was organised by father and daughter Nigel Davies and Anwen Davies, also from Pontyberem. The pair have now held four tractor run fundraising events, supporting Hywel Dda Health Charities as well as other local causes.

Speaking after the event, Anwen Davies said the tractor run continues to grow in popularity each year.

“The tractor run was fantastic. Each year it just gets better and better,” she said. “We would like to thank everyone who donated, took part, helped organise and gave up their time.”

Hywel Dda Health Charities Fundraising Officer Claire Rumble also praised the efforts of everyone involved.

“Thank you to Anwen, Nigel and all those involved in supporting the Cwm Gwendraeth Christmas Tractor Run,” she said.

“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”

The funds raised will help enhance care and support for patients, service users and staff, improving health and wellbeing across the region.
