Two arrested after high-value shoplifting incident in Kilgetty

Specialist police units intercept vehicle following theft from Co-op store

TWO men have been arrested following a high-value shoplifting incident at a Co-op store in Kilgetty.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed they received a report at around 3.35pm on Wednesday, January 28, that a large quantity of alcohol and other items had been stolen from the store.

Acting swiftly on information provided by the caller, officers from the Roads Policing Unit (RPU) worked closely with control room staff to identify a vehicle of interest. Several police vehicles were deployed, and the car was located a short time later travelling east.

Due to safety considerations, specialist Tactical Pursuit and Containment (TPAC) advice was sought, and the vehicle was kept under constant observation.

Police successfully stopped the car on a back road approaching Hendy, with three RPU vehicles involved in the operation. The stop was carried out safely, with no damage or injuries reported.

Following roadside checks, two men — aged 67 and 46 — were arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop.

Both remain in police custody while enquiries continue.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the rapid response of specialist officers enabled them to act quickly on intelligence, helping to tackle crime and prevent further offences in the area.
