Werndale Hospital recognised with national award for patient satisfaction

Prestigious Reputation 900 Award places Carmarthenshire hospital among top-performing healthcare providers

WERNDALE Hospital has been recognised for outstanding patient experience after receiving Reputation’s prestigious 900 Award.

The award places the hospital among a select group of organisations achieving exceptional levels of patient satisfaction and public trust. The 900 Award is earned by fewer than three per cent of all locations using the Reputation platform and is reserved for organisations that achieve a Reputation Score of 900 or above.

The score reflects consistently strong patient feedback, high levels of engagement, and a clear commitment to responding to reviews and improving services.

The recognition comes as the hospital continues work on a £10 million expansion programme aimed at increasing capacity and improving facilities to meet growing demand for consultant-led care across Wales.

The hospital offers a wide range of medical specialties including orthopaedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, urology, gastroenterology, gynaecology and cosmetic surgery, supported by more than 40 consultants.

As part of its ongoing investment in healthcare technology, the hospital has also recently enhanced its urology services with advanced laser equipment used in the treatment of bladder, kidney and ureteric stones. The technology allows specialists to break down stones more quickly and safely, helping patients who might otherwise face longer waiting times for treatment elsewhere.

Over the past year the hospital has also secured a number of national accreditations, including World Class accreditation from Best Companies and JAG accreditation recognising excellence in endoscopy services.

Andre Bothma, Executive Director at Werndale Hospital, said the award reflects the dedication of staff and the hospital’s focus on patient care.

“Receiving the Reputation 900 Award is a strong endorsement of the care and professionalism our teams deliver every day,” he said.

“Patient experience sits at the heart of our decision-making, shaping how we invest and develop our services. This recognition highlights the impact of that commitment.”

Jessica Price, Sales and Marketing Manager at the hospital, added: “Our reputation is shaped by the experiences our patients share, and we take every piece of feedback seriously. We listen, we respond and we use what we learn to continually improve. We are incredibly proud to have received this recognition.”

The hospital is part of Circle Health Group, the UK’s largest provider of private healthcare, and has been delivering consultant-led care to communities across Wales for more than 35 years. Its ongoing investment programme is expected to further expand services and enhance the overall patient experience.
