Trial date set by magistrates
A MAN has been remanded on bail after appearing in court charged with possessing a knife in Aberystwyth.
Shane Griffiths, 20, of Bryn Yr Eglwys, Lampeter, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (Feb 11) charged with possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, contrary to section 139(1) and (6) of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.
The court heard that on January 24, 2026, at Park Avenue, Aberystwyth, he had with him, without good reason or lawful authority, a lock knife in a public place.
No plea was entered at this stage.
The case was adjourned for trial and Griffiths was remanded on unconditional bail. The trial is listed for April 30, 2026 at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.
