Ian Millar and Dominic Spencer to perform saxophone and piano set on April 25
A SAXOPHONE and piano duo described as “the UK’s hardest working jazz group” are set to perform at Llangoed Village Hall later this month.
Ian Millar and Dominic Spencer, who tour extensively across rural communities throughout the UK, will appear at the venue on Saturday, April 25, 2026, with the concert starting at 8.00pm.
The Scottish musicians have gained a reputation within the UK jazz scene for blending melodic jazz standards with original compositions, while creating an intimate concert experience using programmable lighting and table lamps.
Their performances are also known for their storytelling, as the duo share tales from their travels around the country in their distinctive tour bus — an old converted Yorkshire ambulance.
Three Weeks Magazine praised the pair, saying: “Very cool music played in a magical atmosphere – this will appeal to jazz novices as well as hardcore enthusiasts.”
Speaking ahead of the event, Ian said: “We are delighted to be performing all over the UK in a variety of venues with many sell out concerts and record sales in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.”
Dominic added: “We are now also making many return visits to venues up and down the country. Throughout lockdown we called ourselves the Socially Distanced Duo, now we’re getting out and meeting our audience again!”
The performance will take place at Llangoed Village Hall, Llangoed LL58 8NY, with doors opening at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £15, with accompanied under-16s admitted free.
A licensed bar will be available on the night.
