Pensioner fails to attend hearing
A WARRANT has been issued after a defendant failed to appear before magistrates in a case involving serious injury by careless driving.
Allan McLean, 80, of Llechewedd House, Llangadog to Cwmifor, Carmarthenshire, had been due to appear before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court charged with causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving, contrary to section 2C of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
The charge alleges that on March 24, 2025, on the A40 at Manordeilo–Llandeilo, he caused serious injury to a woman by driving a Land Rover Freelander, registration CV14 VTG, without due care and attention.
McLean did not appear in answer to bail.
Magistrates issued a warrant for his arrest without bail on the grounds of non-appearance.
