Court hears drink-driving allegation

Case adjourned for further proceedings

MAGISTRATES heard how a driver is alleged to have been over the legal alcohol limit while behind the wheel in Ceredigion.

Aled Thomas, 38, of Heol Y Bont, Trefechan, Aberystwyth, appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (Feb 4) in connection with a drink-driving offence, alleged to have been committed on January 3.

The court heard that Thomas is accused of driving a motor vehicle after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath exceeded the prescribed limit, contrary to the Road Traffic Act 1988.

No plea was entered at this stage.

Magistrates ordered that the matter be adjourned for further proceedings, and Thomas was remanded on bail while the case continues.
