Court hears defendant admitted causing actual bodily harm
A MAN appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (Feb 4) in connection with an assault offence committed last summer.
James Davies, 42, of Lan Las, appeared before magistrates in relation to an incident that took place on July 27, 2025.
The court heard that Davies admitted assaulting a person and causing actual bodily harm, contrary to section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861. An indication of a guilty plea was entered by the defendant.
As part of the sentence, magistrates imposed a suspended sentence order, meaning the custodial term will not be activated unless further offences are committed during the operational period.
Davies was also ordered to pay prosecution costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
