Defendant fined following road traffic offence

Guilty plea entered at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court

A MOTORIST appeared before Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (Feb 4) in connection with a road traffic offence.

Mark Hughes, 55, of Comins Coch, Aberystwyth, admitted driving a motor vehicle on a road without due care and attention following an incident on December 14, 2025. The offence was contrary to the Road Traffic Act 1988.

He pleaded guilty to the charge at the hearing, and a conviction was recorded the same day.

As part of the sentence, magistrates fined Hughes £200. He was also ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and an £80 surcharge.
