Gareth Davies MS visits Action for Children’s Denbighshire children’s home

ACTION for Children has welcomed Gareth Davies MS to its Denbighshire children’s home, where he met with staff and toured the facilities that provide a loving home and vital support to children and young people.

During the visit, Mr Davies was shown around by Registered Manager Wynne Randles, who introduced him to members of the dedicated team and highlighted the home’s nurturing environment. The tour included a look at the home’s garden, where children help grow their own fruit and vegetables as part of a therapeutic and educational initiative.  It also provided an opportunity to present Mr Davies with a pot of jam made from fruit grown in the gardens.

Speaking after the visit, Wynne Randles said:  “It was a pleasure to welcome Gareth Davies MS to our home and share the work we do to support children and young people in Denbighshire.

“Our garden is a real source of pride – not only does it provide fresh produce, but it also gives the children a sense of ownership and connection to nature.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to showcase the commitment of our staff and the positive impact our home has on the lives of those we care for.”

Gareth Davies MS added: “It was a real pleasure to visit Action for Children’s Denbighshire home and to see first-hand the incredible work being done by Wynne and the whole team.

“I was particularly impressed by the garden, where the children grow their own fruit and vegetables which gets them outdoors, teaches patience, and healthy eating habits. The care, stability, and opportunities they provide make such a difference to children’s lives.

“As policymakers, we must continue to support and invest in services like this, which give every child the best possible start in life.”
