Gareth Davies MS welcomes installation of new multi-bank cash deposit ATM in Denbigh

GARETH DAVIES MS has welcomed the installation of a new multi-bank deposit ATM in Denbigh, delivering on a commitment secured in May year following his campaign for improved local banking facilities for residents and businesses in Denbigh and the surrounding villages.

Cash Access UK announced yesterday that the machine is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is situated outside the Co-op at 26 High Street. The machine allows customers of Barclays, Bank of Scotland, Danske Bank, Halifax, HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander, TSB, Ulster Bank and Virgin Money to make free cash deposits. Compatibility with additional banks is expected to be added soon.

Customers of all major banks can also withdraw cash, check their balance, and manage their PIN using the new facility.

This development follows Mr Davies’ campaign and engagement with LINK, in which he submitted a comprehensive case arguing the need for additional banking services in the town, with residents submitting feedback to Mr Davies which was vital in their eventual decision. LINK then undertook a reassessment of Denbigh’s needs and a recommended improved cash deposit services. The ATM has been funded and installed by Cash Access UK and is operated by NCR Atleos.

Commenting, Gareth Davies MS said: “This is a great success for the people of Denbigh who have put up with a lack of cash deposit services following the closure of all major bank branches in the town.

“Following a long campaign, I’m delighted to see this new multi-bank cash deposit service now available for our community and accessible at all hours of the day.

“It will make a real difference for local residents, businesses, and particularly those who rely on cash transactions, ensuring no one is left behind, and our high street is better supported.

“Thank you to all the residents and business owners who took the time to share their experiences and evidence with me, your input was vital in building the case for this service and turning it into a reality.”
