SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is calling on his constituents to celebrate St David’s Day in Wrexham.
Mr Rowlands, a proud Welshman, is urging everyone to join in with a packed city centre programme on March 1.
He said: “I am always happy to promote and support events which encourage the community to come together and delighted to see that Wrexham will be at the forefront of celebrating this very important day.
“Once again organisers have come up with many different events happening in the city centre including the popular St David’s Day Parade and it will be an experience not to be missed.
“I believe it is so important vital that we all take time to reflect and remember our heritage and celebrate our national day together, and I would encourage everyone to join in with the planned celebrations.”
Wrexham is getting ready to celebrate St David’s Day with a full day of activity across the city centre, with the annual St David’s Day Parade sitting at the heart of a wider programme of music, markets, food, crafts and cultural events.
The annual St David’s Day Parade will set off at 1.00pm, bringing colour, music and community spirit to the streets of Wrexham. Parade participants will gather from 12.45pm outside the Guildhall before heading off on a route around the city centre. Community groups, organisations and residents are all encouraged to get involved or come along to show their support along the way.
