United Welsh has received a Silver Investors in People accreditation for its work to support the health and wellbeing of employees.
THE CAERPHLLY-BASED housing association achieved Silver status under the “We invest in Wellbeing” accreditation following an asHE sessment of its workplace culture, management practices and staff support.
The accreditation will remain in place for three years.
According to United Welsh, fewer than one in five organisations achieve Silver status during their first assessment. The award indicates that the organisation has an established wellbeing strategy which is understood and viewed positively by employees.
Almost two-thirds of United Welsh staff, 65%, participated in a wellbeing survey conducted as part of the assessment.
Of those responding, 89% agreed that the housing association was committed to creating an environment that supports employees’ health and wellbeing.
Assessors found that staff generally regarded United Welsh as a safe, supportive and positive place to work. They also highlighted the role played by managers in understanding employees’ wellbeing needs and providing support when required.
The work of the organisation’s Wellbeing Lead and network of Wellbeing Champions was also recognised.

“It recognises the hard work across the organisation to set up a framework and strategy supporting people’s wellbeing at United Welsh, which we will continue to take forward.
“This would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of staff across the organisation in creating a supportive environment for wellbeing.”
The Investors in People assessment considers how employees are supported, the activities provided to promote workplace wellbeing and the help available to staff who need it.
