Family-friendly activities and hands-on history promised across Easter break

CADW has unveiled its programme of Easter activities at Kidwelly Castle, inviting visitors to step into Welsh heritage this spring.

With a mix of family-friendly entertainment, interactive experiences and opportunities to explore the historic site, this year’s Easter lineup aims to offer something for all ages.

Chief Executive of Cadw, Kate Roberts, said the holiday period provides an ideal chance for families to reconnect with history.

She said: “The Easter break is a brilliant opportunity for families to explore the remarkable history that surrounds them. We’ve designed a varied and engaging calendar of events that encourages visitors to get outdoors, connect with Welsh heritage, and enjoy meaningful time together.

“Children go free with any adult membership, offering fantastic value for families planning multiple days out. Cadw members enjoy unlimited access to 132 historic places across Wales throughout the year, along with exclusive benefits, making it easier than ever to discover more of our nation’s past.”

What’s on this Easter

Visitors to Kidwelly Castle can enjoy a range of activities throughout the holidays.

Juggling Jim will be bringing interactive fun to the castle on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29, between 11:00am and 4:00pm. Families can take part in “Knight School” during the morning, tackling light-hearted challenges, before trying circus skills such as juggling, diabolo and plate spinning in the afternoon.

A Kidwelly Easter Quiz will also run from Monday, March 30 to Sunday, April 5, from 9:30am to 5:00pm. The trail invites visitors to explore the castle grounds in search of hidden Easter characters, before unscrambling a secret word to claim a prize at the gift shop.
