Swansea man fined for criminal damage

Court hears offence involved damage valued at under £5,000

A SWANSEA man has been fined after admitting a charge of criminal damage when he appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.

William Garnett, 35, of Gwernant, Cwmllynfell, Swansea, pleaded guilty to causing damage to property, with the value of the damage assessed at under £5,000. The offence was said to have taken place on December 20, 2025.

Magistrates were told that the matter was suitable to be dealt with summarily, and no application was made for the case to be sent to a higher court. After considering the circumstances of the offence and Mr Garnett’s guilty plea, the bench imposed a financial penalty.

Mr Garnett was fined £92 and ordered to pay prosecution costs to the Crown Prosecution Service. No separate compensation order was made.
