THE INDEPENDENT General Practice (iGP) has marked its first anniversary in West Wales by announcing that it has already delivered over 1,500 private medical appointments in the region.
The Welsh clinic – which also has locations in Cardiff, Newport, and Swansea – has responded to a growing demand for fast, flexible GP access, nurse appointments, consultant-led services, and a range of specialist care in West Wales.
Located at Parc Dewi Sant, iGP Carmarthen’s success has been boosted by same or next-day GP appointmentsand longer consultation times – which have proven particularly popular with locals during the winter months and flu season.
Alongside its private GP services, iGP has seen a rise in demand for its preventative health checks, menopause support, specialist women’s health and gynaecology services, dermatology and teledermoscopy (mole imaging), and adult cardiology services – which reflects a shift towards proactive healthcare and lifestyle-friendly access to care within the region.
In addition to these services, the private clinic has expanded its offering in Carmarthen to give residents access to private physiotherapy and talking therapies – areas which have also seen a surge in demand in recent months.
