Residents warned flooding is possible between St Dogmaels and Amroth
A FLOOD Alert has been issued for parts of the Pembrokeshire coast, with Natural Resources Wales (NRW) warning that flooding is possible in low-lying coastal areas.
The alert covers the coastline between St Dogmaels near Cardigan and Amroth, and residents are being urged to remain vigilant and take precautions.
NRW has advised people living or travelling in the affected areas to prepare for possible flooding and to stay informed as conditions develop. Coastal flooding may affect roads, footpaths, properties and farmland, particularly during high tides and periods of heavy rainfall.
Residents are being encouraged to follow any existing flood plans and ensure family members and pets can be moved to safety if required. Important items such as documents, medication and valuables should be placed where they can be quickly accessed or protected.
People are also advised to make sure mobile phones are fully charged, to know how to turn off gas, electricity and water supplies, and to prepare an emergency bag in case evacuation becomes necessary. Moving vehicles, livestock and equipment away from areas at risk of flooding is also recommended.

NRW has stressed that people should not attempt to drive or walk through floodwater, warning that as little as 30 centimetres of water can move a vehicle, while 15 centimetres can be enough to knock a person off their feet.
Members of the public can check the latest flood warnings, water levels and rainfall data through Natural Resources Wales’ online services or by calling Floodline on 0345 988 1188 using quick dial number 503013.
Updates are also available via NRW’s social media channels.
