VOLUNTEERS from the Llandudno Tidy Team have been out in force carrying out litter picking and weeding work at a number of prominent locations in the town, helping to keep Llandudno looking its best for residents and visitors alike as the busy summer months approach.
Llandudno Tidy Team is a group of volunteers who were formerly called the Friends of Mostyn Street, but in recognition of their commitment to the whole of the town centre and areas such as Craig y Don, the decision was recently taken to change their name to reflect their areas of operation. At the same time the group also launched a new logo and invested in new tabards and equipment.
On July 1 members of the team focused their efforts on the corner and railings by the Love to Eat café on Upper Mostyn Street, removing litter and clearing weeds to improve the appearance of the area. Volunteers also tackled other sections of the Carlton roundabout, carrying out a thorough clean-up to enhance one of the town’s busiest and most visible locations. The plan is to undertake further work in the vicinity and other in areas over the coming weeks, for example in Augusta Street.
The work forms part of the Llandudno Tidy Team’s ongoing commitment to civic pride and ensuring public spaces remain clean, welcoming and attractive throughout the year. The activity complements the work of the Council teams who also work hard to make the town a more attractive place for all.

“It’s a great way to make a positive impact on the community, meet like-minded people and take pride in where we live.”
The Llandudno Tidy Team is always keen to welcome new volunteers, regardless of experience. Anyone interested in helping with future litter picks, weeding sessions and environmental improvement projects is encouraged to get involved.
