Runners are being urged to secure their places for the 40th anniversary event before entries close.
RUNNERS have been urged to act quickly if they want to take part in this year’s Kidney Wales CDF 10K, with less than 10 per cent of places remaining.
The race will take place in the heart of Cardiff on Sunday, September 6, and is expected to be the biggest edition in the event’s history, with up to 10,000 runners set to take part.
The 2026 event will also mark the 40th anniversary of the race, with celebrations planned throughout the day.
In a nod to the event’s 1980s roots, runners can expect 80s music around the course, while finishers will receive 80s-themed items to mark the milestone.
Fancy dress is also encouraged, with participants invited to embrace the decade with leotards, legwarmers and sweatbands.
Matt Newman, chief executive of event organisers Run 4 Wales, said: “Entries into this year’s Kidney Wales CDF 10K are close to selling out so we’d urge those who want to take part and are yet to sign up, to do so, to avoid disappointment.
“The event is planned to be even bigger and better than ever before, and we’d love to see as many participants as possible to get into the spirit of the celebrations by donning their leotards, legwarmers and sweatbands.”
Founded by Kidney Wales in 1986, the event has been managed by Run 4 Wales since 2023 and has grown to become one of the largest 10K races in the UK.
Kidney Wales has remained the event’s lead charity partner over the years and, to mark the 40th anniversary, has become headline partner for the 2026 event.
While general entries are close to selling out, a number of Kidney Wales charity places are still available.
Runners can secure a place for just £5 by pledging to raise £125 for the charity.
