Constable obstruction brings fine

Guilty plea entered at court

A DEFENDANT has been fined after admitting obstructing a police officer.

Damian James, 26, of Park Hall, Carmarthen, appeared before magistrates at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (Feb 10) charged with obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of their duty on February 9.

James pleaded guilty to the charge and was convicted the same day, with the guilty plea taken into account when sentencing.

Magistrates imposed a £80 fine and ordered him to pay prosecution costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
