Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin to host virtual event to hear community concerns
RESIDENTS across North Wales are being encouraged to book a place at a forthcoming online public surgery with Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Andy Dunbobbin and representatives from North Wales Police.
The virtual surgery will take place on 18 March 2026, between 6.00pm and 8.00pm, and will be hosted via Microsoft Teams as part of the Commissioner’s commitment to bringing policing closer to local communities.
The online event will give members of the public the opportunity to discuss policing in their area, raise concerns about crime and community safety, and speak directly with the Commissioner and police representatives from the comfort of their own homes.
Each attendee will be given a 20-minute confidential session with Mr Dunbobbin, who will be supported by staff from his office and North Wales Police to ensure residents receive appropriate advice, guidance and signposting to other agencies where necessary.
Andy Dunbobbin said the online format was designed to make engagement with policing more accessible.
“I would urge residents of North Wales to book a slot at my upcoming online surgery with North Wales Police. I always aim to listen closely to what residents are telling me, and the online surgery is a great way for residents to voice their concerns.
“This creative approach showcases our dedication to accessibility and our ability to adapt in delivering the needs of the people in North Wales.”
The role of the Police and Crime Commissioner includes setting policing priorities for North Wales, deciding the police budget, listening and responding to public views, and holding the Chief Constable to account.
The online surgeries are appointment-only, ensuring discussions remain focused on policing, crime and community safety. While the Commissioner cannot intervene directly in operational matters or handle complaints against officers or police staff, he welcomes feedback on how policing is delivered and ensures residents are guided through the appropriate channels where required.
Places at the surgery are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Residents wishing to book a 20-minute slot are asked to contact the PCC’s office with their name, contact details and a brief outline of the issue they wish to discuss.
Bookings can be made by:
Email: [email protected]
Phone: 01492 805486
Post: Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner North Wales, Police Headquarters, Glan y Don, Colwyn Bay, LL29 8AW
Those unable to secure a place will be offered details of alternative future sessions.
Local leaders say the initiative represents an important step in strengthening trust, transparency and communication between communities and policing services across North Wales.
