Magistrates also consider separate allegation of threatening to damage property
AN ALLTWALIS man has been sent to the Crown Court after appearing before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (Feb 4) charged with blackmail.
Steven Hermon, 54, of Danybryn, Carmarthenshire, appeared before magistrates in connection with two separate matters. He entered no plea to a charge of blackmail, which is alleged to have taken place on February 8, 2024.
The court also considered a further charge of threatening to damage or destroy property, relating to an incident said to have occurred on December 1, 2023.
Due to the seriousness of the allegations, magistrates declined jurisdiction and sent both matters to the Crown Court for trial. Hermon was granted conditional bail pending his next court appearance.
