Store move marked by community day supporting Carmarthen Food Bank ahead of February opening
B&Q HAS confirmed that its Carmarthen store will officially relocate to a new and upgraded site at Carmarthen Parc Pensarn on Friday 27 February 2026, marking the move with a community celebration day in support of Carmarthen Food Bank.
To celebrate the upcoming relocation, colleagues from the store took part in a Community Day, helping to refresh the Food Bank’s outdoor space with painting, planting and general improvements. The initiative forms part of B&Q’s national Community Days programme, which sees teams from stores across the UK supporting local charities and community projects.
Carmarthen Food Bank provides three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people in crisis and is part of the nationwide network supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Will Francis, Unit Manager at B&Q Carmarthen, said the relocation marked an exciting new chapter for the store.
“We’re excited to be relocating our Carmarthen store to its new home at Parc Pensarn and proud to celebrate by partnering with the Carmarthen Food Bank,” he said.
“The new store will offer an enhanced shopping experience, with expanded ranges and services designed to make it easier for customers to improve their homes and their lives. We’re also committed to making a positive difference in our communities, and supporting the Food Bank is something that means a great deal to our team.”
Cath Book, Manager at Carmarthen Food Bank, thanked the store team for their support.
“Support from local partners like B&Q makes an enormous difference to our work,” she said.
“Their enthusiasm and hard work have transformed our outdoor space, creating a more welcoming and practical environment for the people who rely on us. We’re incredibly grateful to the B&Q Carmarthen colleagues for their time and energy.”
The relocated 26,872 square foot B&Q Carmarthen – Pensarn store will feature a range of new and upgraded services, including the Lick paint range, an in-store timber cutting service, and an expanded workwear and footwear department. Customers will also benefit from access to more than 10,000 products in store, Click + Collect within 15 minutes, and a further 22,500 products available via next-day Click + Collect.
The current B&Q store at Old Towy Sawmills, Glanyrafon Road, will close at 8pm on Thursday 26 February 2026, with all colleagues transferring to the new site at Parc Pensarn, Carmarthen, SA31 2NF.
To mark the opening, the first 50 customers visiting the new store between 9am and 9.30am on Friday 27 February will receive a ‘lucky dip’ B&Q gift card worth between £15 and £100. The first 100 customers making a purchase on opening day will also receive a free garden plant, subject to availability and conditions.
Opening day celebrations will include live music, surprise activities for customers, appearances by the Dulux dog, and visits from the Fix Radio Street Team to welcome trade customers.
