Public order offence dealt with at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court
USING threatening or abusive behaviour has resulted in a fine for a Carmarthenshire man.
Geraint Hughes, aged 44, of Llanelli, appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Monday (Feb 2) in connection with an incident said to have taken place on January 18, 2026.
The court heard that Hughes used threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He entered a guilty plea to the offence, which was accepted by the magistrates.
Magistrates imposed a fine of £120. He was also ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs along with a £48 victim surcharge.
