Man fined after being found in possession of cannabis

Drug offence dealt with at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court

FOUND in possession of a controlled drug, a Carmarthenshire man has been fined by magistrates.

Matthew Jones, aged 28, of Llanelli, appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (Feb 3) in connection with an offence said to have taken place on January 22, 2026.

The court heard that Jones was in possession of cannabis, a Class B drug, when he was stopped by police. He entered a guilty plea to the offence, which was accepted by the bench.

Magistrates imposed a fine of £150. He was also ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs along with a £48 victim surcharge.
