Man fined after breaching restraining order

Court hears defendant ignored conditions imposed for victim’s protection

DESPITE being subject to a court order designed to protect another person, a Carmarthenshire man has been fined after breaching its terms.

Rhys Morgan, aged 27, of Llanelli, appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (Feb 3) in connection with an offence said to have occurred on January 25, 2026.

The court heard that Morgan breached a restraining order by making contact with a protected person, contrary to the conditions imposed by the court. He entered a guilty plea, which was accepted by the magistrates.

As a result, the bench imposed a financial penalty, fining Morgan £200. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs along with the statutory victim surcharge.

Magistrates were told that the restraining order remains in place, and Morgan was warned that any further breach could result in custody.
